About

LEAMIS is a 501-c-3 organization. Donations are tax-deductible.

Proceeds from the Bunko Motorcycle Runs are used to help with various LEAMIS projects such as the on-going rebuilding efforts in Mississippi following Katrina. If you are interested in being part of a rebuiling team, we have several trips scheduled throughout the year.

Another LEAMIS program is Project 10:42. This project provides safe drinking water through training and installation of bio-sand filters and low-cost chlorination systems. The chlorination system runs on a 12 volt car battery and common table salt. These units can meet the needs of a village or community of 2,000 people.

LEAMIS also provides cottage industry training to help people help themselves through small business enterprises. Workshops are based upon needs expressed by community members and have included such things as: sewing and tailoring, soapmaking, candlemaking, carpentry, making jams and jellies, and various art projects.
