The Bunko Runs benefit LEAMIS projects such as its continued work in

LEAMIS hleps people help themselves. One way this is done is by assisting churches and communities install water purification systems. Around the world, a child dies every 8 seconds as a result of diseases and complications caused by contaminated water. A simple bio-sand filter system and an inexpensive chlorination unit can change the statistics. LEAMIS provides training in building and maintenance of the systems and encourages the people to share their knowledge with others.
For approximately $1800, a community or village of 2000 people can have safe drinking water.
